dc.description.abstract | Related violence and social policies facts, as well as the discourses oriented towards the citizenship promotion, pervade the public and private spheres of life of women living in urban peripheries. The research presented here intends to identify the singularity of the actions of these initiatives in the politics of the daily life and in the space of the communities where they live, approaching the perspective of development and the powers of women. In this way, it is proposed to understand how the participation in the project "Mulheres da Paz" (Ministry of Justice/Brazil) developed in the city of Rio de Janeiro has been organized, when women act in the public space and in the treatment of violence. In addition, through a historical resumption of the condition of women and the space of the city in question, the context in which public security policies such as “Mulheres da Paz”. In the field research, I used, the analysis of documents and databases, as well as the realization of focus groups, interviews and participant observation of ethnographic inspiration. In the meantime, I have noted that women have been producing new meanings for their own trajectories, and they have articulated new networks and strategies by claiming to reduce violent practices and share political responsibility. | en |
