dc.description.abstract | The study proposes the development of a program to combat academic evasion, focusing on the relationship with the student considering the main factors analyzed in the review of the literature and in the analysis of the data of the institution researched. This program will be implemented in the researched Institution of Higher Education, a private, for-profit institution operating in the Southern Region of Brazil. The method used was the case study. The analysis of the data available in the management software of the institution and in a survey applied to the students who declared their evasion pointed out what are the main factors that influence the student's decision to evade in this institution, among which failing in courses and financial difficulties are the most significant. At the end, a program to combat academic evasion is proposed, based on a student monitoring system. Financial viability for its implementation is also analyzed. The expectation is that, once this program is in place, the institution can significantly reduce evasion rates, thereby improving its performance and reducing the social impacts caused by the evasion phenomenon. | en |
