dc.description.abstractThe thesis analyzed the relations between young, violence and urban space. Based on the identification of a scenario of violence at the national level, that becomes evident at homicides high numbers, it analyzed Cascavel city situation, located in the interior of Parana State, highlighting that the main victims of this situation, are the young people in the range age of 15 to 24 years old and they are concentrated in the neighborhood at north part of the city. Starting from this idea, it was done a territorial social diagnosis in north part of the city, indicating the mains challenges for the young lives experiences and the situations of materials and symbolic needing accumulation. The results identified that beyond the high numbers of violence, it has a set of variables linked to the neighborhood that potentiate the teen’s exposition for the violence situations. Finding to articulate the concrete dates to the young perspectives, it was applied a questionnaire to the young people of Floresta, Interlagos and Brasmadeira neighborhood. In this document were showed the meanings and the values attributed by the young people themselves for their lives in that neighborhood. Among the questions, it were the principals the ones that indicates the challenges and the wishes of a better quality life in that place: working, culture, education and technologies. In the wake of answers from young people and the real framework where it happens the young sociability (neighborhood), it was indicated in the finals considerations the social urbanism perspective as horizon to thinking about public politics of decreasing of violence, having the city as the starting pointing and the young as the processes protagonist. In the theory plan, the thesis used the Chicago School of Sociology, considering that the way to understand the urban space and person relationship deserves one major attention in discussion about violence. About the methodology, it was used collections of statistical data, database creation from spreadsheets provided by official agencies and incursions to field in the neighborhoods, as the bibliographic materials making. The focus objective of this thesis, it was to determine the relations between young and violence, having the home neighborhood as the context and considering reals aspects and symbolic. In a general plan, the results indicated that the young in the neighborhoods affected by high levels of homicides, it suffers many kinds of violence, including as being victims in own family, and they have a constant wish to leave the place, that disorder the social connections and weakens the territorial presence feeling. A public politic based in the strengthening of links and that supports positive identities with the neighborhood, it appears that the possibilities for the framework violence decrease, showed in the research.en
