Architecture is an art, to be used by people, and entails provoking delight and transmitting sensations and remembrances. It extends far beyond the aspect of functionality and is not confined to the building of walls. However, technology is continuously evolving, bringing about changes and requirements in professional life, and one of the requirements of an architect is to execute and complete the job as quickly as possible. This acceleration is reflected in the quality of the architectural design, and added to this is the client's anxiousness to receive the architectural design. The overall objective of this research is perception, from the point of view of the three pillars of architecture: technique, materiality and phenomenology, and their application in the design, done by Álvaro Siza, and execution of the Iberê Camargo Foundation. The specific objectives seek to: determine the relationships between technique, materiality and phenomenology in the Iberê Camargo Museum in Porto Alegre, as an exemplary case; demonstrate the importance of a detailed study of the connection between the three pillars of architecture, as a tool for a creation that is able to cause impacts on users; present through a survey, via sampling, the perception of users in relation to the Iberê Camargo Museum building in Porto Alegre. The methodology chosen was the case study and through the data collected by different means – literature review, questionnaires and on-site observation –the impacts are discussed and analyzed. The result is a sensorial contemplation that strengthens the projectual triad of architecture: technique, materiality, and phenomenology; while also observing how the effects of technological progress aid in the design development process.en
