Description
The purpose of this article was to define a maintenance strategy for three machines in a site of mechanical processing rebar. The research method chosen was quantitative modeling. The study was based on the concepts of RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance). Records have been collected on time between failures (TBF) and time-to-repair (TTR) for the three machines working in parallel for April 2014 until September 2015. With the help of software ProConf 2000, Weibull and exponential distribution shaped the TBF and the lognormal distribution shaped the TTR. The reliability curves were calculated for each equipment and the availability Av(t) were between 97% to 98%. Also the reliability curve was calculated for the system composed of the three machine. With form factors was possible to position the equipment on the bathtub curve and set the maintenance strategy for each machine. The strategies indicated for the equipments were: corrective maintenance, in order to eliminate design flaws and installation, and predictive maintenance, which consist in monitoring of failures and intervention when necessary before the failure paralyze the production.
