Por uma sociologia para os estudos de tradução: reflexões a partir da estratégia DRS do Banco do Brasil
Description
The thesis develops the idea of work of translation proposed by Boaventura de Sousa Santos. We understood it as the symbiosis of two processes, one of intelligibility and other of articulation. We reflect on how to understand it, since the original concept is open; how to study it or analyze it, but also in how to accomplish it in the concrete world of social practices. The two main theoretical articulators are Santos himself, by the reflection on the paradigmatic transition, the sociology of absences and emergencies, and the epistemic understanding of the reinvention of social emancipation; and Antonio Gramsci, from superestrural interpretation of Marxist dialectics domination contained in the reflections on hegemony, civil society and expanded state. We also used his elaborations on common sense and organic intellectuals, reinterpreted in the figure of Translators. Specifically for the reflection on the thought of Gramsci, we made use of the readings of his commentators Perry Anderson, Norberto Bobbio and Carlos Nelson Coutinho. The reflection was conducted mainly on possible approaches between Santos and Gramsci. In addition to these two central thinkers, we followed Pierre Bourdieu’s idea of social fields and his concepts of social and cultural capital; we also used Alain Touraine’s classification of the logics of identity, and opposition. Empirically, we undertook a case study and focused on the three planes of the Regional Sustainable Development Strategy of the Bank of Brazil – DRS. We operate in this program between 2007 and 2012. The study considers the Concertation process, foundation of DRS, as applied translation process. The main conclusions are: the proposition of the idea of Translation Capital and its relevance beyond the antagonisms; the recognition of the benefits of adding a Common Resister Content - COC - for translations; and the indication of the use of work-education methodologies from the Cooperation and Solidarity Economy. We have also established a triple classification for the work of translation: Emancipatory Translations; Emancipators Translations and Expanded Directional Translations. In the case of the latter, we established the need for identification of the directional function of hegemony as a COC.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
