dc.description.abstract | Marriage has gone thru transformations throughout history, regarding its new configuration forms, roles and relationships. Besides the characteristics of the spouses themselves, other factors are influent to the marital identity formation, as the origin family and the sociocultural context. Considering such reality, the purpose of this research was to identify social and family influences perceived by the couple on the formation of marital identity. The study counted with four heterosexual couples in first marriage, with less than two years marriage, and no children yet. As research instruments, were used a sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured interview, which was recorded and transcribed for later exploitation by the qualitative content analysis method. The results showed that social influences perceived by couples were relative to their kind of work, friends network and financial matters. Regarding the origin families, the transmitted values and parental relationship model were perceived as influencers. Respondents also brought data regarding their current wedding moment, emphasizing daily routine and the challenge of reconciling individuality with marital issues. | en |
