Premature birth is one of the major problems that affect public health and the major cause of morbidity and neonatal mortality. Objectives: To analyze the scientific publications that refer to the Working Premature Birth (TPP). Method: This is an integrative literature review. We opted for the query to databases Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Latin American and Caribbean Science and Health (LILACS) in the period between 2005 and 2015, paying attention only to the national scientific production. We used a summary table as a tool for data collection and subsequent analysis, which included the following: product name, authors, place of origin of the scientific production, the study objectives, results and considerations / conclusions. Results: It was found that the periods of greatest scientific production on the theme were the years of 2009 and 2015, and the regions with the highest incidence of findings were the Northeast and Southeast of Brazil. The newspaper with the highest number of publications was the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with 54.5% of the records. Obstetric conduct in TPP proved to be of great importance, since they aim to strategies for the prevention of prematurity and its consequences. Conclusion: This study confirmed the need to provide for and to consider the risks and forecasts of TPP to be promoted preventive measures and implement necessary obstetrics in order to minimize the consequences of premature births and reducing maternal mortality and neonatal.
