dc.description.abstract | The Building Information Modeling (BIM) is based on the information integrated structure. Thus, two main work lines characterize the project process: the collaboration between the different Construction network agents, and the interoperability between the different programs used during the building life cycle. Analyses concerning the interaction between the project software Revit Architecture 2015 and the software for acoustic simulation CypedCad Mep 2016 are carried out to understand how the information continuity takes place along the project development and how to validate such interoperability. Firstly, we present a bibliographic review on the concepts of collaboration, interoperability and IFC (Industry Foundation Classes). Afterwards we verify the degree of information maintained in the transition of the model between the programs, by comparing the models originated from Revit to the same model imported to CypeCad. The analysis is improved with the hypothesis that modeling methodology causes implications to the acoustic simulation system. Moreover, we compare the results of simulations between the models in order to validate interoperability. Results show that there is IFC model exchange interoperability between the programs mentioned above. Acoustics characterization, however, should occur in the simulation software itself. Our work evokes discussions on the workflow and modelling methodologies. It also highlights the importance of investigation on the functioning of the software data bank management system, which is responsible for organizing the information. | en |
