Proposta de metodologia para estudo de demanda de cursos técnicos no IFRS – Campus Osório
Description
This research was conducted at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) Campus Osório - located on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul, which was established in August, 2010. It is the first federal public school in the region. This study is about developing a methodology to define the demands for technical courses that meet both the needs of the community where the IFRS Campus Osorio is inserted and the Local Productive Arrangements (LPA) in the region, as well may serve as a model for application in other IFRS campuses. The first part of the dissertation presents a literature review on the history of the technical education in Brazil, the creation of the Federal Institutes, the foundation of the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), and the establishment of the IFRS Campus Osório. The second part describes the proposed methodology which is based on: relevant literature, primary and secondary data related to the characterization of the prospective site for the Campus, the institute's structure and its legal basis, the profile and expectations of potencial students, the competition and professional demand mapping. Through this research, it was possible to identify and describe the elements required for the development of a research that elaborates a methodology in order to identify, in the area surveyed, technological axes and technical courses that address the LPAs and the demands of the local society. To conclude, the data collected about the Campus Osorio, both on the LPAs and the survey conducted with the community on demand of courses, mostly indicates the continuity and expansion of technical courses related to the services sector.IFRS - Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Sul
