This research sought to explore the political dynamics of social reorganization experienced by sections of the elite South Rio Grande, between the end of the civil war Farroupilha (1845) and brazilian offensive against Paraguay (1864-1870). In specific, examines their political strategies coalition of dispute and social statement, woven and developed in the center and edges of networks of mutual dependence, which converged on the interests of individuals, families, factions and the central government itself.
