The possibility of teaching ethics is a matter dating back to pre-Socratic philosophy and across religions, governments and revolutions, carries, in our days, the baggage of so many that thought, but with the Platonic question fundamentally intact: "Virtue is something what is taught? "To understand the determinants involved in the teaching of ethics to health professionals in Brazil, its possibility and feasibility, this work came from the research of the National Curriculum Guidelines for the health graduation, through studies that denounce the character of corrosion and loss of ethical sensitivity of the students along the courses, and the main theories of moral development and ethical skills in teachers and students. The Problem-Based Learning is presented as the most appropriate methodology for the development of skills in an ethic that, when we notice without satisfactory response by deontology and by consequentialist utilitarianism, meets in fair measure of the ethics of responsibility advocated by Paul Ricoeur, an ethical way of response to transdisciplinary problems of education and health care in Brazil.en
