Ambiência: a contribuição do design estratégico para um serviço hospitalar de atenção à saúde mental
Description
Brazilian society is being ravaged by an epidemiological and social scenario that shows the expansion of consumption of psychoactive substances in Brazil, especially crack. From this perspective, the Ministério da Saúde (Ministry Of Health) decides, through the Ordinance nº 148 of 2012, to deploy the Standard Hospital Service for the care of people with mental disorders or distress and with health needs arising from the use of alcohol, crack and other drugs, as a hospital component of the psychosocial care network. In this context, as a research question for this thesis, we ask: how can strategic design contribute to the consolidation of the concept of ambience for the standard hospital service of mental health care? In search for the answer to this question, an exploratory, qualitative study was performed using as data-collection techniques participatory observation and ethnographic interviews at the Hospital Service for mental health care of Hospital Universitário Mãe de Deus Canoas, a member of the Sistema de Saúde Mãe de Deus, in addition to the services offered by the Sistema Único de Saúde (Unified Healthcare System) in the city of Canoas, RS. The period of observation and collection enabled the gathering of information and made tangible a design action to understand, from a reading of strategic design, the physical, social and professional environments. As a result, we present a concept of ambience for the hospital services of mental health care. This innovative concept was developed through the reading of the system in which the service is located, understanding the ordinances from the ministry of health as design briefings; and the experiences of the multidisciplinary team of a mental health care service through the reading of strategic design. From these readings, we established the design counter-briefing: the physical environment as an activator of the social and the professional environments. Only then, we established a concept of ambience for hospital services of mental health care, based on the experiences of the multidisciplinary team. It is worth noting the major contributions of strategic design with its inherent capacity to deal with the complexity of the context of mental health care with frequent variations and turbulence.Nenhuma
