dc.description.abstract | This study focuses on the routine of a school located in the periphery of the periphery of this Liquid Modern Consumer Society. This ethnographic investigation has been mainly grounded on works by Zygmunt Bauman, Boaventura Santos and Milton Santos. The analysis of the research material has shown that, in such context: a) school professionals in general act as social conformation agents. Removed from the main schools through licit managerial actions, they act in accordance with the differentiated demand of surpluses that the capitalist system needs for its maintenance; b) relationships at school, which are marked with prejudice and discrimination, control the movements of the strangers to consumption, thus strengthening geoexclusion; c) although the school political-pedagogical project formally follows the principles defined by the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, such principles do not come into effect in the school routine, which has been marked with “poorphobia”; d) the Pedagogy of Destiny is gradually established. | en |
