| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation has as intention to problematize a pedagogical experience developed with students of a 5th grade of the elementary public school Dr. Ramiro Fortes Barcelos, situated in the village of the PEJ – State Prision of Jacuí, in the city of Charqueadas, state of Rio Grande do Sul. The experience had as center the culture of the violence, and its analysis was supported by the field of Etnomathmatics and the contemporary curriculum theories. Based on this referential, I searched to give sense to what was enunciated about the violence by those who had participated of the pedagogical work, in approximately a hundred class/hours. The dissertation is organized in four chapters. In the first one, I describe the construction of the research through the history of my professional and academic trajectory and present the theoretical field that helped me to develop the empirical part and later to analyze it.
