dc.description	[pt] Esta dissertação narra uma pesquisa de caráter etnográfico, abordando a história de vida de uma comunidade situada em um pequeno povoado no interior de Minas Gerais, o Córrego dos Januários. Esta localidade, como tantas outras pelo Brasil afora, se deparou com mudanças radicais no seu cotidiano deflagradas com a recente chegada da luz elétrica e da televisão, ameaçando a história e a memória de seus habitantes. Através de uma estratégia teóricometodológica construída principalmente a partir de conceitos de Walter Benjamin e Mikhail Bakhtin, buscamos compreender esse processo. Como pesquisadorafotógrafa, procuro ouvir e narrar a vida que pulsa e brota nos contos e imagens dos Januários, buscando compor junto com eles as trilhas da memória para que não se rompa o elo que os constitui como sujeitos da e na história.
dc.description	[en] This dissertation narrates an ethnographical research, dealing with the life history of a community, Córrego dos Januários, located in a small village in the countryside of Minas Gerais. This place, as many others throughout Brazil, has faced radical changes in its day-to-day living, triggered by the recent arrival of electricity and television, compromising the history and memory of its inhabitants. Through a theoretical/methodological strategy, based mainly on concepts from Walter Benjamin and Mikhail Bakhtin, we seek to comprehend this process. As a researcher and photographer, I try to listen to and narrate the life which pulses and emerges in the tales and images of the Januários, while aiming to construct with them the trails of memory so that the link which makes them subjects of and in the history is not broken.
