dc.description	[pt] Trata-se de uma exposição do trabalho publicado por Alan D.Rendall intitulado Unique determination of an inner product by adjointness relations in the algebra of quantum observables, onde é demonstrado que dada uma representação de uma - álgebra em um espaço pré-Hilbert V que é uma - representação irredutível com relação ao produto interno definido em V podemos garantir, dadas algumas condições técnicas, a unicidade do produto interno a menos de uma constante multiplicativa. É feito um breve estudo sobre representações de álgebras e a Construção de Gelfand- Naymark-Segal é apresentada.
dc.description	[en] This thesis is concerned with a paper from Alan D. Rendall named Unique determination of an inner product by adjointness relations in the algebra of quantum observables, in which is proved that given a - representation of a -algebra in a pre-Hilbert space V irreducible with regard to the inner product defined in V we can assure the uniqueness of the inner product up to a multiplicative constant subject to some technical conditions. We also make a brief study about algebra representations and the Gelfand-Naimark- Segal Construction is presented.
