-based violence inflicted on immigrant women in Spain is analyzed
in a psychosocial framework.
Three global objectives are fundamentally pursued.
The
first reviews some of the most important statistics at our disposal.
The second describes
the psychological and social factors related to the problem, emphasizing the barriers that
immigrant women must systematically face, as well as the particular vulnerability of
this group.
And the third of
fers a view of prostitution as a clear example of gender
-based
violence suf
fered by many immigrant women. Finally
, the most important contributions
of social and behavioural science in general and of psychology in particular are discussed,
suggesting some possible research initiatives for the future. | |
| dc.description | En este artículo se analiza la violencia de género perpetrada sobre mujeres inmigrantes
en España desde un marco psicosocial. Se persiguen fundamentalmente tres objetivos
globales. Primero, revisar algunos de los datos estadísticos más significativos de los que
disponemos en nuestro país. Segundo, describir los factores psicológicos y sociales
relacionados con el problema, la especial vulnerabilidad de este colectivo, así como las
barreras a las que sistemáticamente tiene que enfrentarse.
Y
, tercero, ofrecer una visión
de la prostitución como un ejemplo evidente de violencia de género, del que son víctimas
un importante número de mujeres inmigrantes. Finalmente, se discuten las aportaciones
más importantes realizadas desde las ciencias sociales y del comportamiento en general,
y de la Psicología en particular
, proponiendo posibles iniciativas investigadoras para el
