The following article presents the systematization of the experience of a project in Education for Peace carried out in Alto Putumayo, Colombia, between 2018 and 2021 by the War Child foundation, in order to elucidate the Social Representations regarding cultural diversity that can foster respect and appreciation for differences and those that can be an obstacle in the process. The procedural approach was used for the analysis of Social Representations as a method, and the theoretical foundation of the idea of Chi’xi by Rivera. As a result, there is the relevance of art, the importance of indigenous feminism, the open and taboo-free discussion of topics such as sexual and gender diversity, and the dialogue between education in rural and urban areas to generate creative dynamics that promote respect for cultural diversity in the educational sphere.
