The text is the result of an investigation that aimed to analyze whether the right to conscientious objection in the practice of euthanasia, manages to violate the right to human dignity of a patient. In order to fulfill this purpose, a qualitative methodology with a descriptive scope was developed. Returning to a deductive method, texts on the subject were reviewed at a theoretical, legal and jurisprudential level; Euthanasia and conscientious objection are approached from the need to understand the legal nature of two fundamental rights, embedded in the constitution and in law, on one hand the right to life and on the other, conscientious objection. In the end, it is possible to understand that the application of the right to life is not necessarily above conscientious objection as there are advances in the legal system that propose intermediate decisions without affecting patients who choose euthanasia.
