This work proposes a modular framework for 5G-IoT project development, along with the necessary materials and procedures for its implementation. Enabling faster prototyping for 5G-IoT solutions through an already implemented example using wired sensors, MQTT protocol, and an external already developed MQTT mobile application for providing a complete data cycle from gathering the required project data to showcasing the results to the end user through a mobile device, preparing the desired project implementation for quick iterations and further enhancements by providing implementation details along with the proposed architecture. A systematic open-literature review was conducted to answer the question of which 5G IoT architectures have been proposed, along with their implementation requirements and procedures. This review revealed that, although the reviewed 5G-IoT project architectures offer a general approach to the structure of proposals, they lack practical implementation guidelines. By addressing these gaps in this proposed framework implementation, the experimental results show the viability of a modular project architecture, its usage for 5G-IoT projects, and how using 5G cellular LPWAN multiband network modules in the network controller layer provides the connection with versatility in places where the preferred 5G technology is not deployed. This document provides the specific hardware, software, methodologies, and tips the person in charge of implementing the project would need. It also allows for modifications to different application scenarios while supporting further improvements without disturbing the existing architecture functionality.
