The COVID-19 pandemic showed the need to study the characteristics of telework and its implications in the most diverse areas and, as this change occurred without adequate planning, establishing an ergonomic workplace in the home office became an important challenge. This work aims to present a study that serves as a basis for supporting companies in the development of programs for managing the Health and Safety at Work area, focusing on ergonomics and environmental factors in telework, presenting tools, methods and good practices. The Work Methodology presents a conceptual framework that was the research's bedrock and proposes an ergonomic macro process model for the management of workers' wellness. Furthermore, a survey was conducted following a qualitative and exploratory approach through semi-structured interviews with a group of team managers in a multinational technology corporation with a branch in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The idea was to identify the main organizational and psychosocial risk factors impacting the safety and health of the teleworkers. The evidence extracted from the scientific literature and the results of the interviews emphasized the main problems faced by organizations and remote workers. On the other hand, they conveyed elements for the construction of models and proposals to conduct the management of macro ergonomics concerning the improvement of the work-life balance, the reduction of the absence rates as well as the enhancement of individual and collective performance according to the legal requirements, compliances, and labor regulations.en
