dc.description.abstract | Sports are present in our society manifesting themselves in lots of different ways and on different platforms, enabling contact between individuals as practitioners or as spectators. The relationship between family and school is a subject that has always been present in the daily life of educational institutions, and that still causes divergencies as to the way of thinking and acting about the processes and projects in schools. In this sense, the objective of this research was identifying the level of comprehension that families have about the potential that sport activities have on the integral formation of the students of the early preschool of Colégio dos Jesuítas in Juiz de Fora MG, as well as other benefits that this practice provides. As to the theoretical reference, we have brought up debates about the pedagogy of sports, the relationship between family and school, and the integral formation of children as well. The research’s place of application was the Colégio dos Jesuítas, from Juiz de Fora – MG, a school that is part of the Jesuit Education Network (RJE), which is, in turn, an apostolic instrument of the Society of Jesus. The research’s population was comprised of the 40 parents or legal guardians of the students from the 2 classes of the third year of preschool enrolled in 2021, from which 14 participated. The method of research used was explorative research with a mixed approach. The data gathering with the research’s participants was done through a online survey, and the data analysis was done by association of the results obtained via descriptive statistics of the data with the hypothesises raised in the research, and in regards to the open questions, content analysis was performed. The research results showed the importance that sport activities have in the integral formation of children, and that the families understand the potential that sports have in their life. The people interviewed pointed out health, socialization, and educational formation as key elements regarding the practice of sport activities for children. Based on the results, we presented an intervention proposition that is based on a few actions that should take place in the school environment during the school year, with both families and students, that encourages the attention towards the health, socialization, and formation of the children. | en |
