Competition between companies has increased in international and national markets, making them look for more efficiency in their operations and management processes. This causes the need to develop new, increasingly complex products, with greater diversity and productivity. The present work meets this need and aims to implement total productive maintenance (TPM) in a pilot machine in an industrial park, in order to collaborate with the improvement of the overall efficiency of the equipment, the OEE. Through the action research methodology, we sought to implement the 3 fundamental pillars of asset management, albeit limited but already sufficient to positively influence the physical productivity of the company, namely initial control, autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance. From the analysis of the efficiency data of the selected pilot machine, the low efficiency (OEE) of the asset was observed, through this indicator, it was also possible to determine the parameters of machine availability, essential to draw conclusions about the problems that the asset had been showing, making it possible, in this way, to compare the results before and after the implementation of the TPM, through primary reference values. As a result of the implementation, it can be concluded that the TPM had a positive impact on the real productivity of the asset, of the company studied, at the end of the analyzed period, on average, expressive positive results were obtained, as well as on the availability of the equipment of 61% and in the overall equipment effectiveness of 89%. However, the contribution of this academic work was to generate methodological rigor, capable of helping companies, in pursuit of their goals and objectives, building a production maintenance system, thus obtaining greater production volumes with lower costs, optimizing the production cycle. life of products and equipment.en
