This report, inserted in the line of research “Relations of power, political sand institutions”,
has as it main them Stories and memories of the Helena Celestino Magalhães Shcool in
Juazeiro-BA (1972-1985) consists of making a historical reflection of educational pratices of
teachers in the contexto of the Civil-Military Dictator ship in Brazil. The methodo logy of this
research is part of the quaitativ escope, there fore, central authors were used to carry this
study, such as Michael Pollak, (1989), Paulo Freire (1987), Saviani (2014), Reis (2014).
Regarding the pedagogical pratices, they where approached through interviews with former
teachers, diretor, fotmer students and Reading of historical sources. From the analysis of there
search, it was noticed that the former students have similar perspectives regarding teaching at
time of civil-military dictator ship, which demonstrates that they did not understand the
termdictator ship, even experiencing, the traditional pratice of teaching. It is noted that the
former teachers and diretor recognize the respectand behavior that students in classrooms, as
well as teaching materials, chalkand blackboard. In this path, it is observed that thetheme is
related to affective bonds between teachers, student and family members. Finnaly, we believe
in there levance of this research as na opportunity to streng then institutions in the city of
Juazeiro in Bahia since Helena Celestino School has existed for over 50 years, having faced a
series of obstacles and challenges since its foundation. As a result of there search, the E-book
was elaborated, na educational resource to support Basic Educacion educators. In this path,
the importance of the stories and memories of this work is highlighted as a representation of
the history of Brazil, see kimgto preserve and value the memory of the beings in the contexto
of their social rality.
