This report reflects on the Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres dos Montes Guararapes Sanctuary, located in Jaboatão dos Guararapes - PE. Initially erected as a votive chapel in 1656 – as a thank you to the said mediation of Senhora dos Prazeres in the victories of Luso-Brazilian troops against the Dutch, who between 1630 and 1654, imposed domination in Eastern Brazil, currently the Northeast Region – received between centuries Important expansions in the 17th and 18th century combined with renovations make it currently a National Monument. Aside from the merely monumental issues, we emphasize that the aforementioned Sanctuary is a Pernambuco cultural heritage, therefore, it was necessary to investigate the episodes that occurred in the context of its conception, thus, we make use of authors such as Evaldo Cabral de Mello, Antônio Gonsalves de Mello and Ronaldo Vainfas. As subsidies to understanding architectural and cultural aspects, we have the collaboration of authors such as José Luiz da Mota Menezes, Pedro Paulo Funari and Lia Calabre. Finally, we prepared a photographic
catalog in digital format, as a way of publicizing the Sanctuary, mainly for visitors, but which can also be used by students, researchers and other interested parties.
