Under the anguish of a world in pandemic, we experienced the development of this research that carried in itself the marks of the impossibilities that a virus imposed on us. The experience of the crossing itself was necessary, both in the understanding of the concepts and in the methodological process. However, the path was made and we present this research in three chapters, for each of them a verb that indicates the path and guides the objective to be reached: TO KNOW, TO UNDERSTAND, AND TO (RE)SIGNIFY. The first chapter presents an overview of the current migratory reality, the main displacements and the reasons that motivate them, and identifies the characteristics that differentiate them according to specific groups. Starting from the world reality, we look at migration in Brazil, approaching the territory to be studied and Mission Paz, the institution where part of this research is based. Finally, we pay attention to the festivals that accompany the two groups of migrants to whom this text pays more attention: the Mexicans with the celebration of "Día de Muertos" and the Peruvians with "La festividad en honor al Señor de los Milagros". In the second chapter we dedicate ourselves to understanding the main concepts that guide our research: crisis of sense, faith, signification and re-signification, place, non-place, and in-between places. The knowledge of these concepts offers us a grounded reading of the migratory experience narrated by a group of Mexican and Peruvian migrants. It is these accounts that structure the third chapter, which aims to visit the experiences shared by the migrants through semi-structured interviews. which became a fundamental source of knowledge for the development of the text. In the stories told and in the lives intertwined, we find the experiences of a people who find in faith possibilities of overcoming absence, who find in the crisis the certainty of the presence of a Supreme Being that sustains them on their journey.eng
