The objective of this work is to analyze the evolution of the musical genre sertanejo into the feminejo using qualitative research. First, we investigate what a musical genre is and explore the narrative of feminejo through different songs by the composer Marilia Mendonça. Therefore, we conduct a contextual review of the history of the sertanejo musical genre since its origins. In this work, we seek to understand the feminist movement to have a foundation in the narrative of creation for this new musical genre, feminejo, and explore the creation of feminejo using the identities of hybrid culture as a base. To achieve the proposed objectives, we use a combination of different methodologies, authors, and researchers. We highlight two primary authors that we use to understand musical genre and identity, Néstor García Canclini and Jesús Martín-Barbero. The different methodologies are procedures for collecting, analyzing, and combining qualitative techniques, such as analyzing some compositions by singer Marília Mendonça to identify scenes of the feminejo.en
