Description
The article is a case study focusing on historic buildings in fire protection, and a brief history of accidents occurring in historic buildings. There was also an historical study in a building where he runs the Agostinho Martha Municipal Museum in the city of Gravataí - RS where in 1997 there was a fire partially destroyed the building. In this study, an analysis of documents, in newspaper reports at the time as well as an interview with the director of the museum that was the first to arrive at the venue, so diagnosing possible causes of the accident. Was also carried out a comparative analysis with the current situation of the museum after his retirement and ending with some ways to adapt as museums in accordance with current legislation.
