| dc.description.abstract | This paper develops a study of the audience in cinemas and the production of documentary films today in Rio Grande do Sul (RS). A question of whether there is an audience for documentaries made in RS and if its culture of documentary is proportionally lesser than Rio de Janeiro / São Paulo. How to increase publicity and the distribution of documentary films and for its audiences. One question examined from a research project involving data of box office collected from the Fundacine and Ancine sites, and interviews with audiences and filmmakers.
