This Clinical Psychology Master Degree Dissertation focused the analysis of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy process of a child diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder and her pregnant therapist. Firstly, it was made a literature systematic review to access the studies about the theme and to access the possible influences of therapist being pregnant for the psychoanalytic psychotherapeutic process. Secondly, it was made a therapeutic process’ analysis based on the Child Psychotherapy Q-Set (CPQ). This is a descriptive, longitudinal and naturalistic study, in which we adopted the systematic single case study procedure. A eight years old girl and its therapist have participated of this study. The therapist gets pregnant during the treatment. The patient was followed during forty psychotherapy sessions. All the sessions were filmed and analyzed using the CPQ. The therapeutic process was divided into four periods: the first period, before the pregnancy; the second period, when the therapist knew it was pregnant, but the patient had not been informed by the therapist; the third period, the patient consciously knew about the therapist pregnancy and; the fourth and last period, corresponded to the return of the therapist from maternal license. The results reveals how the girl’s psychotherapeutic process has occurred, presenting the manners how the therapist pregnancy has influenced the therapeutic process and the relation with the patient psychopathology. Some CPQ’s items have varied according to the treatment period. Five interactions structures were identified and they describe therapeutic-patient relationship patterns and, positive and negative transference and countertransference matrixes.en
