dc.description.abstractEvery year, more than half million labor accidents are reported to Social Security in Brazil. Between 2012 and 2018, 15% of the communications were sent reporting machinery and work equipment as causes of these accidents. Even with this alarming number, recent study points out 70% of the labor accidents are underreported. Aiming to subside Labor Inspection with data to create preventive strategies, this study evaluates the accident analysis inspection reports issued between 2018 and 2019 to identify the main irregularities related to machinery and work equipment associated to the accidents analyzed. Then, data were extracted from Sfitweb, using SIGAF system, filters were applied to select just machinery and work equipment irregularities and, last, these irregularities were classified among titles and annexes of the NR-12 version before 2019 July’s change. Results point out more than 80% of the irregularities concentrated in 9 titles, specially: safety systems, technical trainings, work and safety procedures, and maintenance, inspection, preparation, adjustments and repairs. Presses and similar equipment annex also was classified as one of the sections with the high number of irregularities, counting almost 3% of the total.en
