The main objective of the article refers to an analysis of the internationalization potential of the company Planta e Obra, supported by an investigation of the main theories about the process in the bibliography and a brief historical resumption of the phenomenon in Brazilian civil engineering companies. The application of the investigated theoretical framework is complemented with the use of the SCOPE methodology, developed by Paul (2020), which contributes to the creation of strategies for success in the internationalization of small and medium-sized companies. The applicability of the methodology and theories was used to analyze the possible internationalization of Planta e Obra, a civil construction company located in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul. The study contributed to show that the company needs strategies for standardization, ordering and synergization of its processes, observing the challenges and problems that the company may face during the expansion so that this process has positive results for the company's economy.en
