This work aims to analyze the factors associated with school dropout, in a Technical School, located in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, in its subsequent or concurrent high school Technical Courses. The study analyzes the trajectory of students graduating from classes from 2018/1. Regarding school dropout, the discussion is based on the literature review, including dissertations, theses and articles: Scremin (2008), Martinho (2014), Cruz (2013), Oliveira (2016), Carneiro (2015) , Leite (2012), Basso (2014), Araújo (2013), Meira (2015), Queiroga (2017), Gugelmin (2015), Oliveira (2016b), Dore and Lüscher (2011), Lima (2019) ), Fialho (2018), Figueiredo and Salles (2017), Pedralli and Cerutti-Rizzatti (2013) and Mendes (2013), who address school dropout issues in Profession Technical Education. The research is a qualitative case study, using quantitative data. The instruments used consisted of analyzing data obtained by institutional actions to prevent school dropout and internal documents of the educational institution. According to the data produced, the results show that the factors concerning school dropout are intrinsically related to aspects both external and internal to the institution, corroborating the contribution of the literature review done. The most recurrent external factor was financial difficulty. The internal factor identified in the investigation, a greater range of possibilities for evasion can be considered and not a determinant that leads the student to evade. The research allows us to conclude that there is a crossing of internal and external factors, as well as the profile of the student who evades the institution, showing that evasion is a very complex problem, which makes it essential to observe from different perspectives.en
