| dc.description.abstract | The present dissertation with a focus on studying the academic trajectory of Priest Arthur Rabuske, S. J.. During his time in the academic world, Rabuske, S. J.produced books and articles of his own authorship and translated several texts by other Jesuit historians and chroniclers. His vast textual production allows us to take a close look at his works, especially his dedication to Jesuit historiography. Through empirical research and the vast production of books and texts by this Jesuit, it is possible to understand part of the history of immigration and the Society of Jesus in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. As a historian-researcher, his “doing historiography” allows us to analyze the performance of the priests and brothers of the Companhia de Jesus of Germanic culture, first in the German Vice-Province in Brazil, then in the Province of Southern Brazil. Focusing him as a researcher and historian, it becomes possible to trace his life trajectory, with an emphasis on academic bias. We seek to analyze him as a researcher and member of the Companhia de Jesus, highlighting his important contribution to the academic world and to the Rio Grande do Sul and Jesuit historiography. | en |
