This working aims to understand how to project speculation and controversy. For this, the project understands the nature of speculative design, and from the perspective of Actor-Network Theory, the concept of Mediation and Controversy. The exploratory research was based on the mapping of controversies proposed by Venturini (2010) to explore the context of the Maia Industrial Complex in Caxias do Sul RS. From this, the controversy was represented and presented a project group for speculation creation. The trajectory of speculation from then on was: Introducing oneself to the selected participants in the context of the controversy Through a focus group. In all there were 3 focus groups formed by varied groups. Each focus group featured topics among actors and a specialty from the perspective of Actor-Network Theory and Speculative Design. Later the initial topics were introduced for a new project session with the project group, which is a set of authors of this research, modifying the trajectory of speculation in the context of the controversy. In all, 3 focus groups were held, in which a discussion was held on the topic. It is understood that the role of controversy, if observed by the Actor-Network Theory, allows exploring different avenues for a critique of speculation. Thus, Specific Design was implemented in a document on the subject, however, its ability to project the role of an actor and future. Creating new storylines and unlikely connections.en
