This study purposes to analyze how does the development of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) occurs in a situated context, supported by the use of mobile devices. For this, the research method applied was Netnography. The choice by this method allowed the insertion of the researcher in an online community accessed by mobile devices, which allowed to observe and analyze the development of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) in a situated placed by the research subjects (undergraduate students in Administration) during an international exchange. To follow this process, was chose to use an existing application, Line®, accessed by smartphones. This mobile technology enabled the daily monitoring of the students, through their video posts, texts and photos and also their real-time interactions by chat. In addition to follow-up by the online community, three interviews were conducted, one at the beginning of the exchange, another during and one after the exchange, in order to understand this development process. The main results indicate that the development of Intercultural Intelligence (CQ) occurred in students' daily lives in intercultural interactions not only with local foreigners, but also with foreigners of different nationalities and, for the most part outside academic environment. Mobile technology, besides allowing the subjects to be followed during the exchange, also allowed interactions between them, which were in different contexts, but experiencing similar challenges. These exchanges of experiences, through technology, generated learning, but not as intense as learning in the situated context. The research evidence points to the development of different dimensions of CQ, in a situated form, especially the motivational and cognitive dimensions.en
