dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this work is to present studies related to room acoustics. The present study seeks to understand, mainly, the interference that the lining geometry of Cine Teatro Luz has in the acoustic quality, considering this geometry unusual in the aspects related to the sound distribution, due to the positioning of its curvature. Thus, the Cine Theater Luz building, located in the city of União da Vitória, Paraná, was defined as the object of study. Cine Teatro Luz is a state-listed heritage building and is currently being restored. The objectives of this work are to clarify the influence that the original liner has on the acoustic quality of the Cine Teatro Luz room, using the acoustic parameters TR, EDT, D50, C80 and STI, parameters related respectively to the reverberation time , musical clarity and definition of the spoken word, in which the results of these parameters are compared to the results of a modeling with a liner proposal that provides more conventional sound distribution. The method consisted in using the metric information of the room in the computational modeling, with two lining situations: the first with the original liner, with longitudinal curves to the room and the second modeling, called the proposed liner with curves transverse to the room. Both models were simulated in the acoustic software CATT-acoustic v9.1b - demo version, with input data of the absorption coefficients (α) and the scattering coefficients (s), as well as input data for sound source and receiver position . During the comparative analysis between modeling results, the influence of each liner on the results was observed. It can be concluded that the results presented in the modeling with the proposed lining contributed to the improvement of the acoustic quality of the room, considering that the room is destined to the multipurpose room. However, the results showed that the original liner geometry could benefit music-related activities.en
