It is intended to work with the pragmatic movement, with abolitionist aims, which assertively seeks success in the liberation of non-human animals. With the proposal of achieving effective results, it will aim to evaluate strategies of the animal liberation movement with abolitionist aims amid the various moral and instrumental aspects of the speciesist society. Although the term “pragmatism” has been widely mentioned, here it will be qualified in the guidelines of pragmatism as a philosophical method, initially in the perspective of identifying problems in the so-called current of pure Abolitionism. Finally, he intends to investigate the processes of Cognitive Dissonance by Leon Festinger, evaluating possible paths about the phenomenon that guide the so-called elective Speciesism, seeking to qualify and give an orientation to the perception of animalistic philosophers and activists in dealing with ethical and rights issues to non-human animals.en
