| dc.description.abstract | The main topic of this dissertation is the private records of Nicolau Araujo Vergueiro (1882-1956). This is one of the "memoir spots" of the Physician and Politician which is located in the city of Passo Fundo - State of Rio Grande do Sul. The Regional Historical Archive, bound to the University of Passo Fundo, has received the donation of this collection. Such event is not isolated, but a crucial part of the process of gathering the patrimony of his memory. The archived documents project an image of the holder, namely as desired to be identified by the others along his journey, and even then, as desired to be reminded after death. In order to comprehend such (self)representation, we analyzed different document sets such as albums, bibliographic collection and annexes; his reminiscence manuscripts, entitled as "Private Notes"; and the object and his office furniture collection as well. The description of the documental backlog allows verifying the great incidence of topics linked to Vergueiro's acting as both Physician and politician, including authors which are given by him as reference in different areas of knowledge; and still contribute to understand the social relationships and the ways of socializing among several groups such as: family, clientele networking, community, members of party fellowships, doctors, and state representatives and also congressmen | en |
