dc.description.abstractThis paper aims to translate and cross-culturally adapt a National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators® (NDNQI®) questionnaire, RN Survey with Job Satisfaction Scales-R, which assess nurses satisfaction to develop and maintain nursing talents. Magnet® Hospitals have a favorable relationship with the client (regarding the nurse-patient relationship), recognizing that the nurse professional is the key point to reach an excellence care. Making nurses autonomous and controlling their work environment through technical knowledge and a good relationship with the medical team, thus contributing to an environment conducive to professional practice in which it results in satisfied professionals as well as a higher quality and safety standards. (CLARKE; SLOANE; AIKEN, 2002). Method: instrument consists of 27 items in which the satisfaction rating scales in the national database working nursing quality indicators (NDNQI) American database, include the following subscales: Task, nurse-nurse interactions, Nurse-Physician Interactions, socket Decisions, Autonomy, professional status, salary, Nursing Management, Nursing Management, Professional Development Opportunity and Access to Professional Development. For the methodological procedure of adaptation were followed the steps of translation; back translation; evaluation of semantic, idiomatic and cultural by a group of judges who suggested changes in most of the items to ensure these equivalences and pre-test with 30 subjects. The study included 135 nurses. Results: The internal consistency of the questionnaire was calculated by Cronbach's alpha coefficients and setting a model of structural equations, together with the discriminant validity and convergent validity of the scale were evaluated and had their results through IBM SPSS v .23 and IBM AMOS v.23. The Cronbach's alpha values were 0.860, and is considered satisfactory and the sphericity of Barttlet test was significant (p <0.001). Conclusion: the recommended steps were followed in the literature and all of these steps have been successfully completed. His successive evaluations have provided that equivalence between the translated version into Portuguese of Brazil and the original version was assured. As there is a lack of tools to assess nurses' satisfaction in their work environment in Brazil, the adaptation of "RN Survey with Job Satisfaction Scale-R" and the validation of the subscales for the Brazilian culture, contributes to determine the presence of nursing work environment characteristics, which interfere with the exercise of their professional practice.en
