| dc.description.abstract | The publishing industry has been suffering significative changes for the last few years. E-books and electronic devices are becoming more and more popular, and at the same time e-books sales are growing. Brick-and-mortar bookstores are the most visible part of the printed books supply chain for the end user, and they currently depend mainly on these books commerce for their income. This research aims to analyze the current situation of these libraries, through interviews, ethnographic research and a strategic design set of tools. Its objective is to obtain a wider vision of the bookstore business, through contact with diverse actors involved in the process of production, sales and book acquisition, and to project possible future scenarios for books acquisition, through the design perspective. In the end, there will be brought indications for a system that fits one of these scenarios, bringing a vision for the future of books consumption. | en |
