dc.description.abstractThe goal of the present study consists in identifying if a practical social media community Facebook® could be utilized to professional development groups in situation of social vulnerability. The individuals selected for the researching were apprentices of electrical maintenance and electric building courses of SENAI - Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial - Canoas unit, Rio Grande do Sul, who participate in the governmental program “Aprendiz Industrial” that is intended for people of low income families that fit the social vulnerability conditions. The approach used in the researching was Design Research, used to the creation of an artifact in activities that create theoretical knowledge and practice. It has been created for this study, an artifact (digital community) on social media (Facebook®) To the construction of this tool, were utilized diagnosis instruments (allowing to identify the social and technological context of the participants), group events (training, discussion, meetings) to plan the form of the digital community, besides ensuring control of (participation recordings and activities) to a final evaluation. To analyze the data, it was utilized an analysis content technic through the software NVIVO that allows to categorize different kinds of data (texts, pictures, sites, links, videos etc.). As main results, found in the study, we can say: the viability of using Facebook® to the creation of a practical community, this social media already has structure and digital tools that let the conception of an interactive environment suitable to acquire social learning through sharing information, ideas, practice and experiences. However, the dimensions of community and practice were not achieved entirely by the digital community on Facebook® related to learning, this happened in an informal manner, but the digital environment brought proactive attitudes, freely and independently that contributed to this process. There was a contribution to professional development via informal learning and we could also identify different ways of helping by themselves and cooperation via initiatives of support and encouragement among the members. Besides the practical results, the study realized a conception of a method of creation of practical digital communities on social media.en
