dc.description.abstractThis study aims at analyzing the role of the interrogative modality inserted in the strategic board of the authorial opinionated article, defined by the option of vias of continuation constituted by relations among informative units of the text. This strategy leads to the action of the textual producer of this genre, who considers that the reader is neither able to understand nor satisfactory believe in the information presented on the text. The research has originated from the O.R.T.O. project (Rhetorical Organization of Opinionated Texts) - which is coordinated by Professor PHD Maria Eduarda Giering, from Unisinos - where the initial theoretical reference comes from, based on Bernardez (1995) mentioning the via of the textual continuation, and in Mann and Thompson (1992) indicating the relations N-S (nucleus-satellite) of the RST (Rhetorical Structure Theory) as options of the writer who produces the text in direction to his ilocutory end.
