Ensinando a ser trabalhador: um estudo das representações no Telecurso 2000.

Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation is to identify the worker’s profile that is represented in the “Telecurso 2000” [an educational program broadcast by Globo Television Network] and to discuss how the adult workers who participate in that telecourse see themselves represented in the teleclasses. In order to reach this goal, the author observed 10 teleclasses of Mathematics and 10 teleclasses of Brazilian History at the level of elementary or basic education, examined documents, carried out interviews and used the free association technique with four workers. The characterization of the “Telecurso 2000” project was developed on the basis of a question list proposed by Fischer (2001) for the analysis of TV products. The problematization of the social representations was done on the basis of Moscovici’s studies (1978) and tried to establish a movement between the analysis of the media product and the listening to the telestudents.
